Kirklees is going to deliver a Year of Music in 2023 and we are looking to appoint a diverse Music Partnership Board with a broad range of knowledge and skills to take the lead in the delivery of the Year of Music 2023.
The board will be operational from Autumn 2021 until 2024 ensuring a sustainable legacy for the programme.
We are looking to appoint a diverse board with a broad range of knowledge and skills, including but not limited to the following:
• The communities of Kirklees
• Fundraising and philanthropy
• Marketing and Communications
• Music Industry
• Health and Wellbeing
• Kirklees Business Community with regional and national understanding
• Music festivals and Tourism – international to community-based tourism
• Climate Emergency
• Digital & Broadcast
All members of the Year of Music Partnership Board will be committed to being inclusive and be aware of the Kirklees commitment to the agendas of: Intercultural Cities, Nurturing Parent & Family Friendly – welcoming play, Dementia Friendly, the 7 shared outcomes and the equality of opportunity and access for everyone.
A core group has been established for the Board including Cllr Paul Davies, Portfolio Holder for Environment & Culture, Qaisar Mahmood, CEO Radio Sangam, and Hilary Thompson, Chair Third Sector Leaders.
It is estimated that the board will consist of between 8 and 12 members, depending on skill set. Therefore, there are up to 9 places available.

Shortlisting will take place and the final selection will be made by the core members of the Board. An interview may be required.
